I love the idea that you will never know what you'll find - there's so many different people sharing what inspires them, and it's a good way to find out about different lifestyles.
The one thing I like most about it is the accessibility of photos. It often takes me hours to search through blogs to find those specific photos that I'm looking for, and yet with pinterest, it only takes a few minutes.
Now trust me when I say that I am not getting commission from Pinterest, but that doesn't hold me back from promoting it. I feel like the more people who are aware of it, and use it, the more likely it is for us to be able to find beautiful photographs on all the things that inspire us.
Now you can't just sign up like a traditional photosharing site, but all you have to do is request an invite. Generally it takes between 12 to 48 hours, but should be relatively quick, and I waited less than 12 hours for my invitation.
One thing I've noticed is that a lot of bloggers are using pinterest photos. Now this is great except that it prevents them from taking that extra effort to find something unique to put on their blog. A few times now, I've gone to decorating blogs expecting to find something new and exciting, but just find the same old photos already circulating around pinterest.
I hope that bloggers don't use this as their only source for photos, but I'm sure they will figure out the downside to this eventually..
I just checked out photos for leather swivel chairs - and was amazed at the shear amount of photos provided. I'm on the hunt for that perfect leather chair, but I find that many of the websites have the same leather chairs for sale, and it's hard to find something that suits for style.
I love that there are a lot to choose from, but it would be nice to see some other retailers coming along to bring some new styles to the online market. Thanks to pinterest, many other leather swivel chair buyers are able to share their favorite designs.
